Many Studios operate a creative hub
We are an independent organisation based in Scotland and working globally across the creative industries. Our Creative Hub at Ross Street offers 45 industrious workspaces for our community of 60+ people, from visual artists and designers to writers and engineers.

We programme an exciting arts space in Scotland
Projects consider access to creative and cultural activity, expectations within arts practice and the misrepresentation of non-western cultures in the UK. The programme exists to showcase work that addresses gaps in our knowledge and actively encourages discussion on how ignorance and complacency, often perpetrated through the arts, upholds oppressive structures both in our own society and across the world.

We consult internationally on strategies for sustainable practice

We create projects which respond to unique contexts

We are a team
Natalia Palombo, Marc Cairns and I lead the small and nimble Many Studios team.

From 2013-2016, I led the design of hub’s relocation from the initial business case to the design and re-development of a previously vacant building in partnership with a private landlord and public funding bodies.

With a modest £0.5 million construction budget available, Many Studios and New Practice made the most of the building’s heritage and existing structure to create functional, flexible and accessible creative workspace across the building.

In consultation with Many Studios - who had operated a creative hub in Merchant City for 2 years - New Practice designed workspaces that would serve a wide range of practitioners and businesses providing spaces that focused on flexibility, functionality, usability whilst future-proofing the overall approach to the building to accommodate emerging trends in creative workspace.
